I had the classes first then the Home Study. The classes were very informative. Although, it seemed to me that there were so many bad stories from other foster/adoptive parents. A lot of us wondered if they were trying to discourage us. Fortunately, most of us made it through all 10 classes.
Everything is done on my part. The only thing i'm waiting for is to have my Home Study approved and to be licensed. I emailed the SW Friday to check in to see how things were going. I've been waiting a couple of months. She wrote back right away saying she hasn't even completed and handed in my Home Study yet to be approved because of her heavy case load, but said she hopes to get to it soon. I wrote back and thanked her and added some questions. I was really disappointed, though.
I'm hoping to hear something soon. All i keep thinking about is my children are somewhere out there waiting for me to come get them.
Hoping to adopt 1 or 2 girls between 0-12 yrs--any race
