I read books and articles

about transracial adoption and I still didn't feel confident enough in myself to adopt transracially.

Then I found this forum and it CHANGED MY LIFE!
I read about all these people who have been where I was and how they overcame some of the issues that came along with transracial familes.
I knew what to expect before it happened and how to make it better.
We had started out requesting a full CC baby only, because we were afraid of how our family would handle it.

They had actually had a hard time placing three AA boys while we were waiting.
We prayed to God and pleaded that all we wanted was a child, and it was like... "well, I sent you three and you turned them away!"
To make a long long long story shorter (kinda)
We opened out hearts and minds and our BEAUTIFUL baby girl L was born a month and a half after we opened up to AA.
I've lost a few family members who still chose to believe that this was not the best situation for us or our daughter, but it's their loss!
Now I get the joy being with my beautiful daughter everyday and taking her out and about so she can announce to everyone she meets....

"I FARTED!" lol... the joys of motherhood!!!!
