my adult brother had this diagnosed several years ago. althought it's congenital, he didn't have symptoms until he was in his 20s.
i'll be honest that he struggled with anxiety for the first few months after the surgery. every headache he thought was something related.
he's doing excellent now. as for little kids, they usually are much better patients. it'll be really hard for you, no doubt. you are in my prayers.
