I am far from a hair expert, but did want to say to just make sure that the hair is not so tight that the skin puckers (you would notice - it pulls it in to little bumps and can cause infection or hair loss). I pull dd's pretty tight, but always double check on that. My dd sleeps with her hair done. I've never had her sleep in barrettes or with beads that her head would have to lay on though. I know I've heard some moms take their dd's hair out every night and put in sleep braids....personally, I can't imagine.
