My sister was given up for adoption in Michigan in 1982. Through some detective work on my part I was able to find her. She actually posted her information on this site! So I've tried calling the number listed and had to leave a voicemail. I've tried emailing. I was able to make direct contact with her adopted mom who was very guarded. She asked that I not contact my sister, she would speak with her and if she wants to have anything to do with me then she will call or something. I agreed but then realized that that's a really unfair request. Anyway, I've tried reaching out to her via email multiple times and she won't respond to me.
I guess I don't understand why you would put your information on an adoption registry if you didn't want to have contact with your bio family. Does anyone have any thoughts about this? I'm really getting discouraged.
