Adoptee passport question

Hello everyone,

I apologize if this question has been asked before, but I can't find it addressed anywhere.

I know you guys probably get irked by last-minute questions like this, but I really need an answer ASAP, as my husband and I are traveling on Monday to Jamaica to meet with the Embassy about our I-600 petition.

Our child has a Jamaican passport that her birth mother purchased for her last October. Will the child be able to use this passport to travel? Or does she need a passport that has our names on it as her parents?

We have already adopted her in Jamaica and have an Adoption License that attests to that. It only takes about a week to get a Jamaican passport, but it would help us if we didn't have to get one and could return to the States earlier, since we'll be leaving other children behind to travel.

Anyway, I would appreciate any responses; please let me know what was required for the child's passport at your final visa interview, even if it's from another country.

Thanks so much ~
Janice
