Most adoption medicine doctors recommend revaccinating ALL children adopted internationally, with the exception of those from South Korea, which has a Western-style medical system, a strong emphasis on immunization, and good quality vaccines.
For those parents who are uncomfortable with the idea of redoing all immunizations, they suggest that parents have titers (blood tests) done, to assess the effectiveness of any immunizations done overseas. They can then immunize ONLY against those diseases to which the child does not show immunity.
