Unwelcome stimulation while nursing

Hi, I'm a mom who recently more or less weaned my dd, adopted at 6 months and breastfed with and without an SNS for a year and a half+. I just randomly read somewhere that having only a little or no milk in the breast while nursing can lead to unwelcome sensations for the mom, particularly in the groin area. I just wondered if anyone else had this experience. I had a problem with this particularly in the first few months - when I had very little milk - and after I officially weaned dd. So it seems to make sense now, but I felt awful and weird, even as I was elated to have a nursing relationship with my baby. I just wanted to open up the discussion...
