I had been a licensed daycare provider for over 15 yrs when I began to do fostering. I needed a separate license for each. In Massachusetts you have to be licensed to run a daycare out of your home or you get BIG fines. In MA. you can only have 6 children (this would include any bio, foster and daycare children) at a time and only 2 of those can be under 2 yrs old. They did allow more if you had children coming in after school and would only be there for a couple of hours.

I wasn't allowed to use my upstairs or my basement for daycare because there weren't 2 exits from those locations but my downstairs was plenty big enough.

Doing daycare is the best job to have if you need to work but still be home with your kids. I highly recommend it. Good luck
