I have dual license for foster and daycare. I have 5 kids, 3 fosters and 8 daycare children. We can have 12 kids. 10 under 5yrs. 3 of those can be under the age of 2. Our county agency is pretty good about giving variances for those providers that are proven capable.
Some days are tough. When one child is out of sorts it sometimes rubs off on the others. And then you still get to deal with the grumpy's after all the daycare children go home.
I will probably be quitting this June because I will have too many children once school is out. I could hire someone but I am not certain I want to do that. I never thought that I would have 6 new children in 6 months. I have had to reconfigure some things.
