I am in Colorado and just asked my agency about this, since I was even wondering how people had jobs and managed to do foster care. So, I thought having a home daycare would be perfect since I have been a nanny for 15 years. My agency told me that I can take care of kids out of my home and do foster care but they do not do duel licensing, although it is legal to be licensed for both

I have yet to get a real answer for the duel licensing thing, but I DO know that I have to abide by state regulations for childcare ratios; 7 kids maximum, only 2 can be under 2 (my daughter is 19 months...so...) But I think it's a perfect way to be available to foster kids but have an income coming in as well. I can't wait to hear more about this, and if you go forward with it. I don't think you're crazy at all! You have obviously proven that you are basically super human with all that you have taken care of so far! Also, in my experience, once you have over 4 kids and add in a few more, it really doesn't make a considerable change. Chaos is chaos, and we thrive on it, right?!
