Hello, Very few adults have lived in an OA - I know Brandy has - so there is very little infomation out there ie books etc, about their experience of an OA.
But after reading thanksgivingmom's blog I got an idea to ask everyone on the forum if they had read a book written by someone who grew up in an OA to post it here.
I have read Abandoned by Anya Peters, her book is about her life - she suffered terrible abuse at the hands of her uncle - she was brought up by her aunt and uncle in the 70s and knew her bparents and even stayed with them etc. It was an unofficial OA.
Tahnksgiving mom mentioned Persian Girls, A memoir - I have yet to read this but it sound like this author also grew up in an OA (please correct me if I am wrong) So please could adoptees, bparents or aparents - anyone -who have read similar books could you please post the titles and authors here! thanks
