Kansas Family Waiting
Hi, I wish the best to everyone in this forum. My husband and I are trying to adopt. It's been 6 months since our homestudy was completed and more than 11 months since we started all the paperwork. We have had 11 calls, believe it or not, but only 2 went forward with our lawyer and neither of them worked out. We are now back in the waiting holding pattern and I hope we get another call soon. We have been trying to do a private adoption with our lawyer and social worker only, with our own marketing. We are now looking at local agencies to see if we should sign with one (even though it's out of our price range). I agree, it's nice to know we're not the only ones out there, hopefully, waiting to be parents.
I keep telling myself that God would not put it in my heart to be a Mom, make me infertile and then not send me a child through adoption, but I wonder some days. I really enjoy being an aunt (to triplets! and 1 other nephew), we love playing with our friend's children too, but they all eventually go home. Please keep us in mind and in your prayers, we obviously need more to get us through this.
