Over-reaction to checking hair
My little guy has a little pimple on the back of his head in his hairline. I felt it when washing his hair. When I bent him over to investigate, it set off a 20 minute crying fit with him nearly hyperventilating.
He was crying, I was crying. I didn't know what to do. Finally, I asked him if it reminded him of being in China and checked and he sobbed "yes." I don't know what he remembers but it was so sad.
Since then, we've been playing at checking each other's hair (he checks Mama and Baba and we check him) in an effort to make it not so scary.
Has anyone experienced similar overreactions to checking hair?
