The Nepal program is still new to my agency but from what I understand, Nepal only accepts 10 dossiers a year from agencies that the Nepalese gov't has approved. 2009 was full so we put ourselves on the 2010 list. However, it can take up to two years from when our dossier is submitted (January 2010) to receive a referral. 'Dossier submission' is just a term I used to describe being put on "the 2010 list" to have our dossier submitted to Nepal.
Also under Nepalese requirements, we can only adopt the opposite gender of their future sibling, so we will be adopting a girl.
We know we're in this process for a long time but our future daughter will be so worth the wait. Of course I think I'm going to be patient through the wait but get real...I'll be nuts with excitement by the end of summer.
