sblk, two of our twelve were biological children. and one was a relative adoption. We adopted nine of our children. Only three of our adoptions were from out of state and the rest were in state adoptions. All were through the fostercare system. Our kids' ages are: 19, 18, 17, 16, 14, 10, 8, 7, 7, 6 {7 on the 22nd}, 5 and 4.
Half-siblings are #1} the 18, 10 and 6 year old, #2} the 16 and one of the 7 year olds, #3} one of the 7 year olds, 5 and 4 year olds. The 17 year old was my nephew, now is my son. The 14 year old was our first adoption when he was 7 years old.
Does that make sense? Our adoption journey started in 2002 when our b/d was a year old and our b/s was 12 years old. Funny thing is that when we started our adoption journey, we were looking to adopt one, maybe two. I have gained so much experience and insight over the years!
