I had to laugh at this. When we submitted our paperwork for a Guatemala adoption we had anticipated adopting one, and then shortly there after, starting a second one. I had visions of two children 12-24 months apart. Hoping to make the process quicker, we got approval for two children.

Low and behold, two days after our paperwork was received, we got a call about twin boys. My DH and I had 24 hours to think about it. He told me that as a SAHM I would bear the bulk of the physical/mental/emotional stress that went along with adopting twins. I think he thought I would say "Thanks, but no thanks". Well, as you can see from my signature the rest is history.

The moral of the story, be flexible in your timing. Things have a way of turning out for the best in the end...even if it is not quite the way you plan.

Best of luck!
