It really depends on WHO the person is that is making the comment/statement to you...I'm not going to be informative/kind with someone that I KNOW is being rude/nosy on purpose..
Some people (i.e strangers you talk with briefly) aren't really interested in a heartfelt thought provoking answer so I probably wouldn't really respond to them with much detail other than with a general type of answer...
Some people say things to get a "reaction" from you and also to dig into your business...those people will not get a nice, warm fuzzy answer from me..they will get a sarcastic one...while part of a fparents job is to educate (my opinion), there are some people who don't really CARE about the who/what/why of it all and trying to educate them is a waste of time...jmo
