Very interesting thread.
Honestly, the whole idea of being grateful for not being killed just kinda blows my mind.
That aside...I know that my dh and BIL have tremendous anger towards their bmom, and gratitude definately is not in there anywhere. Since 6 of the 7 sibs have FASD, including my dh and BIL, I think they're pretty entitled to their anger.
Both of them are relieved that she passed before they began their search...I wish they'd had the chance to confront her and let them know how they felt...and hopefully, heal.
