My first one is a small seagull flything through the sunset. My bst friend and I got the same thing - to symbolize our lifelong friendship crap. It is on my shoulder. She kept asking me if I was going to be ok and I kept saying It depends. Finally after the 4th or 5th time she asked depends on what? I told her whether they were almost done or not. If it was 1/2 done, I'd be fine, if it was going to take a lot longer, I might not be so fine! It really wasn't that bad at all. It has always looked great! I actually had a sunburn at the time and that tattoo has always looked as if I always had it. It never swelled, never scabbed, nothing.
The second one is a bouquet of 4 shamrocks on my upper thigh. This was hand drawn onto my skin and then tattooed. With a new 'gun' or what ever they call it. The needle was dragging in the beginning. So the outline on one of my shamrocks is a little heavy. I'm the only one who would notice. This hurt a little more, but still it wasn't that bad. The anticipation was worse.
I am a needle phobic. I have had to wait around in dr.'s office after an injection to be sure I don't pass out! My mom always asks me how I could have gotten tattooed with this phobia - I didn't watch! I can't watch!
For my shoulder, I could have watched in a mirror, but turned my head the other way, I was laying on my belly. For my thigh, I was laying flat on my back.
