You don't have to go and just do what you think is best.

However, my 4yr old (adopted at 9mths) LOVES Annie and I do too. Every family is different though, my daughter was adopted as an infant and has no memory of the orphanage. I completely understand making the decision to not watch the movie. DD thinks that Ms. Hannigan is mean but I just made it clear that her caregivers tried their best to take very good care of her. She has asked whether they learned to sing and dance at the babyhouse...

I think Annie actually gives a good message about birthparents. Her parents loved her very much and wanted very much to come back for her...I don't think that's negative. The Rooster character is just an outside the adoption realm villian...not related to the triad at all. And Daddy Warbucks and Grace use positive adoption language throughout the film and heck he even tries to help her find her biological parents...a strong example of an adoptive parent I think.

So just my thoughts.
