Well, mine are kinda girlie I have a band around my ankle with my first (bio) son's name, a small Hibiscus flower on my lower back/hip with the petroglyph mother and child inside (after my first one I was dying to gt another!) and I just got (after we finalized) a more elaborate one on the back of my neck/upper back of a Hamsa hand (good luck and keeping the evil eye away) that incorporates a lot of symbolism that is meaningful to me. The Koi fish represent good luck, longevity, etc. and in each of their tales I got my newly adopted kid's initials ("E" and "S"), the writing in the middle is sanskrit for "mother".

Tattoos are so personal. I would recommend finding a good tattoo artist, researching what you (or DH) wants, and then take pictures to the tattoo artist and have him/her then design you something that is totally unique to you. I came up with the idea for my ankle one and then my friend who is the tattoo artist drew it up from my idea and I LOVE it! Same with my Hibiscus ione. The Hamsa hand I saw something kind of similar on Miami Ink and then researched and found an even better one online on a tattoo artist's website. I took the pic to my friend who then changed and added what I wanted and it was a thousand times better than anything else I had seen and completely unique to me!

Good luck!
