Do you have to readopt in the county your reside in?

I live in Michigan and we don't have any provisions for readoption (it just plain can not be done) so I am only familier with readoption from what I read here. But I have seen people recommend on many occassion that someone readopt in another county than the one they live in where the process is easier.

I have no idea if this is possible everywhere or even truthfully anywhere, but throwing it out for what, if anything, it might be worth. Considering the situation, it might be worth a call to your other local counties to see what your options are.
