Yes! I don't know if a baby born is a possibility in your situation but we were open to it and our agency said to be ready to leave home and fly across the country at a moment's notice. We thought, no it will never happen and thus had some stuff but not enough when we got the call-TWICE! It was quite a relief to have a bag packed with everything we needed for a two week stay.
Unless you are really set on a pink (or girlie) or blue theme, there is plenty of gender neutral stuff out there to get yourself set up now. It was really nice to be able to focus on the baby and not having to go out and buy stuff once you bring them home. It definitely does help with the expense.
