I say yes, ask for one, the worst they can do is say no.
I had a little one come over to my house a while back (a neighbor kid) and just before I gave everyone a snack I noticed she had a bracelet and asked to see it. Turns out the child was anaphelactic(sp?) to nuts, eggs and dairy...Ummm...can you imagine?!!? I was a little annoyed with the parents for not letting me know this---what if i had not seen the bracelet???BUT the bracelet was there and I did see it and it made a big difference. The truth is, any one of us can forget to let everyone who cares for the child know everything some of the time. And we can not be with the kids 100% of the time. Good to give whoever responds to an emergency a heads up about what might be happening. Just be careful not to let it be the ONLY way people know about the kids condition.
