In defense of UPS...unless the sender 'requires' a signature, then UPS and every other delivery company will leave a package at the doorstep as long as it is in a reasonably safe neighborhood.
The UPS deliverer doesn't know what is in your package and whether it's O.K. to leave it on the doorstep. The sender is required to fill out a box asking if they want to 'require' a signature...and if your sender did that and the UPS driver dropped it anyway, then it's his/her fault. If not, it was the fault of the company that sent the package. (can you tell I am married to a 25-year UPSer)
As for dogs...I have two needing a home as well. One of mine got into the garbage and ate all of the leftover ham/turkey from Thanksgiving. It was a lot of not too good meat. He has had diarrhea for 3 days now. I have been up every 30 minutes all night long letting him out. I am so tired I can hardly stand it!!!
