I also had imaginary friends growing up. My mom said they went EVERYWHERE with us. She did like it though because I would take them with us out to eat/on vacation and they were very cheap to have along.
Alex has done pretend play with "Dora" and his "LaLa" (Disney Princesses - don't ask) and I love playing along with him.
