Isn't it interesting that, in the white community, having oily shiny hair is a sign that you aren't caring for it enough, but in the AA community it's the opposite? i have very dry, coarse hair (i always assumed it was a feature of my small amount of AA heritage), but i could never go a week without shampooing because my hair is light brown and shows oil like there's no tomorrow and looks awful. i should have been a hippy in the 60's lol.
On weekends i don't shampoo at all, and usually put a natural lotion in overnight once a week to get back some of the shine, not to mention heavy-duty conditioners and other moisturizing products. My husband makes me wear a hat lol. OK, not really, but it still looks bad!
