We save the Tylenol/Motrin for fevers or after immunizations. Hylands works for us (I know some people worry about the bella dona but it's good for us!) and we use them sparingly. If your baby can't or won't hold teething toys you are right, kind of limited! we used oral gel in the VERY beginning a couple of times, not sure it helped.

E is 16 months today and STILL wears his little Bandit Bibs every day pretty much. We are in a perpetual state of teething around here!
