Deeply sorry for you.

We went thru similar turmoil when our youngest was born but, finally, she became ours. It was the absolute most difficult time of our lives.

The very saddest part of all this is that you and your husband would have been able to give this child everything he needed. Mom and her family appear to be very wishy-washy and unsteady and incapable of providing more than a few moments (and diapers) of support. A child needs so much more than that and he could end up in foster care for years before he finds the permanence he deserves -- all because of her selfishness.

Please know that there is another plan for you that you can't see right now. Have faith and continue to believe in miracles.
