I agree, my heart goes out to you, and I too send baby dust. However I am a firstmom whom indeed relinquished due to coersion, not from DFS or anything of the likes, I don't even know anything about public assistance. I do know that when giving birth your hormones are way way out of whack. No body should be around the mom or baby, UNLESS they were personally invited. We have every right to change our minds, and she should be left alone until, she decides otherwise. Forget what you have been told. Go strictly by what new Mom wants and her decisions only. This DFS is 100% coreect in saying they cannot threaten her with foster care, I know this happened to me, and I have lived this nightmare for 22 + yrs now. She is only a Birthmom AFTER she deicides to place and sign those papers. Please , I beg of you to leave her alone, until she personally request you to be there. I know this is hard, but SHE needs to be able to decide without pressure of parents being around whom wish nothing more than to adopt her baby. JMHO, when the time is right GOD will see that you become loving wonderful parents!
