Prior to signing up and being accepted at JobCorps, she had to have an assigned place to stay during their summer and winter breaks. If she didn't have a pre-assigned place to stay then she would not have been accepted into JC because during those 2 vacations, no one is at the JC site, etc. Initially she had planned on going back to Jax, but had to write something down on paper for them to see, so she gave them our address. She initially planned on saving up money to get to Jax and then one of her mom's friends from Jax was going to fly her back. Well, the mom's friend's sister got deathly ill and the mom's friend is still somewhere up north with her sister, who they say is dying. So there went the trip to Jax. (M.C. was going to stay at her house too)

So in lieu of that, we are more or less having to provide her a place to stay. So there you have that.
