I just had a thought. Maybe a good start would be hire a sitter to watch Athena on a night you guys are actually staying in for the first time. (Make a nice dinner, have some wine! Light some candles!) Have her come at bathtime or just before and see how she interacts with her and puts her to bed. That way you can get a feel for how Athena is with her and you can see her in action.
