After a week or two of twice daily medication (Desonide) his skin will be "normal". For the most part, if we are diligent about following the rules he rarely gets a new patch. Occasionally he will start to develop a new patch and we start with the meds. If we catch it early it takes less than week before you can go back to just lotion.

Both my guys have a lot of food allergies so there may be some connection there. Stress can also increase flare-ups and I think that is also a contributer.
