Be aware though some kids are quite overwhelmed by Christmas their first year. We had a lot of frustration and crying during our year one Christmas. Yes, good advice!
Charlotte did pretty well last Christmasafter only being home for two months and then having so many people around at the holidays, but it helps that she had met my brother and his two girls in Hong Kong at the end of our adoption trip (and then they all came for Christmas), so they were familiar to her. She is very much a go-with-the-flow kind of kid, and has been ever since we met her (at 13 months old). We are lucky that way!
