You Could Have Been MY Daddy's girl.

I found my daughter's birthfather in February of this year (08). He will never forgive me, but I understand why. He didn't know about her.

I wrote this poem on his behalf, like he was writing it.

You Could Have Been MY 'Daddy's girl!'

I think about you all the time.
Were you ok, sweet child of mine?
I wish that I had known about you.
Didn't know your mother was that cruel.

I could have taught you wrong from right.
I could have stayed up with you all night,
when you were sick and couldn't sleep.
Why were you the one she didn't keep?

You could have been MY 'Daddy's girl.'
You'd have been the center of MY world.
But your mother kept us far apart,
and left a hole deep in my heart.

I hate that she did this to us.
I hope her punishment will be just.
She tore us apart when she left us behind.
There's so much to catch up on, sweet child of mine.
