I am so sorry to hear about your loss. I do not know the law in Guatemala. Is there a way that you can get a second opinion on this case from an investigator or att? What proof?? Also is there a higher court that you can fight this? What if your child can not be adopted from a Guatemalan??? That is a real possibility. Will you be able to adopt her? If you do not get a yes, from your att. maybe you can find an att who can get some answers for you. If the child will be up for adoption, then why can't you adopt her, if no one in Guatemala will? I would definitely get a second opinion. Can you get in touch with Kevin or Kelly and ask them if they know what you can do about this or who to go to for resources? Please forgive me if this post that I am writing may cause stress to read, but I would fight until I got a solid answer from someone who isn't directly involved. Something does not seem right, but then again, I am not familiar with the law there. My heart goes out to you, as I have tears in my eyes as I read your post. Please try and get a second opinion.
