My AA daughter is 8 years old. Her hair is now almost to her waist. I have had an awful time taking care of it. Since she was an infant, every place I went people were giving me advice on what to do with her hair. (It must have really looked bad) I have relaxed it, and used every product imaginable on it. I have finally for about the last year, taken her to a beautition every 2-3 weeks. Our lady washes, conditions, blows it dry and braids it.If you try to braid it when its wet, it kinks up as it dries and the braids get all funky looking. We get beads on the ends which keeps the ends from frazziling. The hairdo lasts 2-3 weeks and my daughter and I have never been happier. My doing her hair had become a real "hair pulling contest." Now my daughter always looks good, her hair is in excellent condition and we no longer have our daily fights. I pay $45.00 to get the braiding done. She swims daily and is on the football team. Braids fit up under her helmet too. Its worth the money, it takes about 1/2 to take down....almost 2 hours at the beauty parlor. (When I first started taking it down it took me almost 2 hours. I got better.
