My birth mother actually found me - not the other way around.

Some things that you can do to make it easier if someone from your biological family is searching are to authorize the release of the information to any interested parties.

I sent notarized consent letters to the adoption agency to that effect - both from myself and from my adoptive parents. I also registered with a lot of search registries.

I actually gave up my own search many years ago, but all of that information i had put out there eventually paid off. My b-mother found one of the registries and contacted the adoption agency to verify the information. They were able to give her an address - which even though i had moved, did lead her to finding me - over 10 years after i had given up.

Good luck in your search!
