The one I would suggest the most is There Is No Me Without You by Melissa Faye Greene. It is about Ethiopia and the orphanages.
You can also check out PBS and netflix to see what movies they have about Ethiopia. There is suppose to be a really good movie about the Fistula issues but I can't remember the name at the moment. Also check out Amharickids.com to see if there are kid appropriate books that could be helpful.
