We adopted privately. The total cost including homestudy, travel, attorney's fees, post-placement visit, finalization, counseling for bmom, placing profile on-line. ETC...all expenses incurred came to about 12K all of which we got back in the tax credit in the same year our DS was born (2007). One of the reasons we chose to pursue private adoption was because we felt that agency fees were to expensive.
