When we found out our daughter was in care it was thru another relative whom was called by them. We had no information as to who had called this relative but my husband was able to track down the SW via a detective at the police department in the city where she was taken into foster care at. In order to speak to the SW they required a background check from him over the phone first and then he was allowed to speak to them. They could only say who was over the case. Then he called that SW up and got the ball rolling to move her here. As far as the details of the case, all they could tell him was the reason for removal in general terms. In order to review her entire CPS file we were required to become licensed foster parents first and they needed our license there.
