We are looking at adopting an older child from another state through straight adoption. We had a failed international adoption (after a year and half in process and us meeting the child the birthmother decided she wanted the child back

) and need to get an updated domestic homestudy. Does anyone know if we need to go through our states classes and become licensed in order to adopt an older child from another state's foster care system. We want to make sure we are doing this the right way. We have already had contact with the other states authorities and they are looking for a child for us right now.
thanks so much for any instruction and insight we are most grateful!
