Hmmmm...
I can "confess" that although we did not have a gender preference, I wanted a girl. My sister and I are much closer to my parents than my bros. I always "envisioned" doing "girl things" with a daughter (I am not a tomboy really!).
of course, now that I have a girl, I would love a 'mama's boy!" (I think I'll have to settle for my new male puppy when he arrives!).
I think little girls are easier as babies/toddlers (as a general rule....) but I am not looking forward to the teen years. My dad always says that he loved me until I turned 12!
eta: Dh and I do feel some pressure to adopt a boy to contine the family name...his bro and male cousins have girls and are done having kids. ironically, dh is adopted so i don't think it's a thing about carrying on some grand genetic history!
