I guess nobody has had a similar experience, since there has been no reply. I don't think my mom is ever going to find her birth mother, who she believes was Native American. There is no record anywhere that my mom was adopted, although she remembers clearly being taken away from her mother (in tears, screaming that she hates everyone, and wants her mom), and arriving at her new family's home (she even remembers a man showing her where her bed and closet were). When her Afather told her about the adoption a year ago (my mother was fifty years old then), the Amother denied it ... which is why we think the amother might have done something illegal. The birth record we have for my mom was issued from the hospital where the Amother trained as a nurse - but without any doctor's signature! Don't know what to do now, it's so easy to lose hope.
