OK, our first adoption was from foster care. Therefore we dealt with the Ministry of Children and Families (MCFD) I think that is similar to DCF in the U.S.
Anyway, because we have dealt with MCFD we have to have a Prior Contact Check done with them. So any information that MCFD has about us as parents, needs to be shared with the new private agency that is dealing with the new adoption.
MCFD is not our friend because they once placed a child with us who we were unable to keep because he was harming our other children. They were not at all understanding and I was told that I should not be an adoptive parent. I would believe them if I wasn't already parenting and homeschooling an adopted child from foster care.
