Many Adoptees Lives Saved by Pro-life laws before Roe v Wade

As an adoptee who was born before the Roe v Wade decision which made abortion legal, I am grateful that the law protected me! My birth mother faced dire circumstances in the mid 1950's as she was challenged in her unplanned pregnancy with cancer and a communicable disease. These realities did not alter the law that embraced and fully supported life for me an unborn child. It did not give my birth mother a choice on whether I should live or die. I feel blessed to have been given the gift of life and also so thankful that my birth mother survived my birth in her fragile condition! And my adoptive parents prayers for a child were answered too.
My heart is deeply moved by the realization that innocent unborn babies today, conceived in our great country, do not have the protection of the law. And their future and right to life is placed on the heavy shoulders of many women who are in the middle of crisis situations and often make emotional decisions alone or under extreme pressure and stress.

As I reflect on the protection I was given by the law which honored my life and the sanctity of that life- I know that I need to stand in the gap for the precious unborn babes whose lives are at stake today. They have little to no protection. They need a voice. Had I been conceived today instead of before Roe v Wade, I would hope someone would advocate for my life and be a resounding voice for life on my behalf.
As I vote in the upcoming election, I must remember the unborns babes and chose candidates who honor the sanctity of human life. And to encourage other voters to do the same. To do anything less would be truly unforgivable.
