RE:Searching for my husband's birth parents, Chicago, IL

Joanne, If you still live in the Chicago area you may contact the local library system looking for Old 'Polks City Directories' and phone books. Since you have a last name, you may be able to narrow down your search, possibly identify your husband's B Parents. Also I am curious about Catholic Charities? I don't think they would have had that power to take him from the home themselves. You may want to check old court records in person for again anyone by that last name, possibly even the records for when he was taken assuming the B parents were charged with something. If your husband has anything proving his B name, he might try to get hospital records. Since he wasn't adopted at birth, he should have records floating around somewhere, identifying the B parents. Now the Hospitals aren't required to keep them that long, you may have to try several hospitals but worth a try
