Making abortion illegal doesn't make it go away. Drugs are illegal, and we teach kids that in school. Guess what, they (almost) all know how to get them, some of them even choose to use them. I'm a high school teacher, just because they know something, doesn't mean they apply the knowledge. Teens are invincible. Just ask them. You can't give someone a "right" then take it away.
I would never have an abortion. I think it's wrong, but that doesn't mean I am not pro choice. Besides, I have never found a canidate that I believe in everything he stands for.
My beliefs aren't that different from yours. Abortion just isn't one of those key topics I look for when casting a ballot.
