The papers are back

Last week, I called my daughter's adoption worker to see if the adoption paperwork was back from Sacramento. The worker told me she believed the revised paperwork had just been sent in within the last two weeks. I politely responded with the CW told me she sent in the revised paperwork right before the 4th of July. You know the mistake it took her a MONTH to notice. The adoption worker couldn't remember when the paperwork had been sent in and said she would have to call the CW.

So I sucked it up and called the CW and played nice. But of course, she couldn't help me because she was pissed that after working 11 months to get Rowan an assessment at Regional Center I finally get a call and was told I needed to call the Regional Center for my zip code.

Wednesday since no one had called me back I took a chance and called the adoption worker shortly after lunch and shock of all shocks she was there and answered the phone. And she said she just got the paperwork back and we need to schedule a date to sign placement papers. YIPPEE!!

Part of me was ecstatic to hear this. I so want to be out of the system. In the past 4 years, the longest I have gone without a SW and CW in my life is 3 1/2 months. 3 1/2 months in 4 years. I think we both need a break from each other.

But another part of me was worried because once I sign placement papers my FFA is no longer involved. It will be just me and my daughter's insane CW. If it's taking 2 months to get a court finalization date, can I handle this woman alone for that time? I know I can plaster on the smile and do whatever I can to appease her for 2 months, but ugh!

But back to the positive, my SW is out of town until the 8th so we'll all reconvene when she gets back, sign those papers, and get ready for a courtdate.
